About Mrs. Spresser

I am the instructional coach for Bedford County Learning Academy (BCLA) beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. My time will be shared between Thomas Magnet School and BCLA.
I have taught for 16 years. Ten of those have been in Bedford County, at Cascade High School for 8 years, and most recently, at Shelbyville Central High School for 2 years. I taught high school English, and I will certainly miss the classroom, but I am very excited about getting to work with other teachers to help the students of Bedford County.
I graduated from Westmoreland High School in Sumner County in 1996. I graduated with honors as the salutatorian of my class.

I attended Middle Tennessee State University and have my Bachelor of Art degree in English, with minors in Education and Film Studies.

In May of 2023, I earned my Master's of Science in Education in Reading from Arkansas State University.
I live in Murfreesboro, where I have lived for over 25 years. My husband of 21 years, Shane, and I live there with our dog, Bernadette (Bernie), and our cat, Fitzgerald (the Gray Catsby).

I am an extroverted introvert, and I LOVE to read--I could be happily stranded on a desert island with some books for quite some time. My husband and I watch many streaming series and lots of movies together. We both like to play music. We enjoy trivia. I really like to do crafty things like knitting and sewing. One of my favorite things in the world is spending time with my parents, my sisters and in-laws, and my nieces and nephews.
